In an ancient time,
water is drew from the St. Rocco’s Well and the Well of
the earth. When finally
was realized in the
late nineteenth century a primitive water supply were also
built several public fountains.
Among those, to
be remembered is the Via Salita Torre’s Fountain, born at the
behest of Mayor Patella in 1897, replacing the old fountain in Largo Croce. Today it
consists of a brick facade divided into three areas by small columns, each with a single jet water
nozzle.
